The following pre-application has been evaluated under the 2003 International Codes and
Edmonds Community Development Code. Please resubmit with corrections.
1. Sheet F4/6 Interconnect ¾ hr FR Blaze Guard fire shutters at building entry to building fire
alarm system (IFC 907.10). Provide interconnected shutter-functioning detector(s) as
required in accordance with NFPA 80 and manufacturer’s instructions.
2. Sheet F2/6 & F3/6 - Notate tamper connections to PIV, DCDA (2 valves) and sprinkler
control valves on plans.
3. Sheets F3/6 through F6/6 – AOR (two-way communications) equipment proposals within
scope of FA contract should be added to JOB NOTES and design-specified on fire alarm
plans. Provide cut sheets for AOR-related equipment. Add missing AORs at Exit Stair 1.
Provide addressable refuge-end notification at head-end.
4. Sheet F3/6 Add hornstrobe located approx. parking space 60 and visible throughout ramp
area.
5. Sheet F4/6 Strobe-only notification for restrooms.
6. Sheets F4/6 through F6/6 – Redesign corridor smoke detector spacing to 30’ or show
manufacturer’s suggested design spacing. NFPA 5.7.3.2.3.1
7. Sheet F4/6 Anticipate power requirements for future notification requirements throughout
tenant improvement areas.
8. Sheet F4/6 through F6/6 Add smoke detection and notification appliances in egress
components: STAIR1 & STAIR 2.

9. Sheet F5/6 Relocate exterior horn/strobe to 5 Avenue entry wall area.
10. Sheet F1/6 Update riser diagram and battery calculations with corrected design actions.
