The following project has been evaluated under the Edmonds Community Development
Code, 2003 International Codes and local construction standards.
1. Install a fixed fire protection system throughout the structure in accordance with
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 13D, Standard for the Installation of
Sprinkler Systems in One- and Two-Family Dwellings and Manufactured Homes,
or other approved and nationally recognized standard,. IFC 903.3.1.3
2. A 13D sprinkler system is considered a life safety system. Dwelling sprinkler
systems require a separate permit for approval and installation.
3. Sprinkler systems require periodic maintenance to remain viable. A covenant will
be required for this purpose to maintain the viability of the automatic sprinkler
system. The covenant will apply to all future property owners and successors.
