(JRR) believes the 15'x 16' addition at the rear of the existing house was most likely constructed prior to the carport. Insulated wire with 2 wires (no ground), materials of construction and the Assessor's Field Book notes are in support of this conclusion. In discussion of the house at 24227 Firdale Ave., Edmonds, it is an old home built some time in the 1940s. As for the rear porch area, which is now closed in, it looks like it was added on prior to the front car port. The front car port is actually attached to the house in the front and runs along the south side of the house and then is attached to the back porch by having a 2x8 nailed to through the siding of the rear porch into a header.
