During review of the subject submittal, it was found that the following information, corrections, or
clarifications would need to be addressed. All Handouts and Standard Details referred to in these
comments can be accessed at our website: www.ci.edmonds.wa.us by clicking City Government / City
Department / Public Works / Engineering Division:
Please Note: Building Handouts do not include updated Engineering Division Requirements. Refer to
Engineering Handouts for all Engineering Requirements.
General:
1. Please hatch or shade the areas of proposed construction including areas of driveway to be
added.
2. Note width of driveway approach and proposed driveway width at garage entrance.
3. Call out name of street on plans.
4. How is runoff collected from the existing structures? (e.g. splash block, tightline, etc.)
5. How will the runoff from the proposed structure be collected. See Stormwater Mitigation below
for additional information and requirements.
Stormwater Mitigation
:
1. The project needs to be classified per ECDC 18.30.50. Please review the City of Edmonds
Stormwater Handout #E72 and complete the included Stormwater Worksheet for submittal.
2. Add impervious surface calculations to your plans from the completed Worksheet. (See
example site plan attached).
3. Refer to the Stormwater Supplement to determine the requirements for the classification of
your project. The Supplement is available on the City of Edmonds website. See Chapter 4 for
Large Sites, Chapter 5 for Small Sites or Chapter 6 for Minor Sites. Add any requirements to
plans.

Grading/TESC (Temporary Erosion and Sediment Control):
(If you wish, a copy of the site plan can be used to create a Grading/Tesc plan to include the
following information.)
1. Indicate location of temporary erosion control measures on plans. Please include details of
erosion control measures in plans consistent with City of Edmonds standard details (available
on the City of Edmonds website). Also add note to plans “Additional Erosion Control Measures
Consistent With City of Edmonds Standards Provided As Needed”.
2. Add grading calcs to plan, amount (cyds) fill and amount (cyds) cut. If grading is under 50
cyds add “Grading < 50 cyds” to plans.
3. Indicate area of disturbance. Outline on grading/tesc plan and label with square footage of the
area. (See Handout #E72 definitions)
4. Add note to plans: “All disturbed areas on and off site shall be compost amended to meet
requirements of BMP T5.13 in the Stormwater Manual, Vol V, Chapter 5”.
Please resubmit 3 copies of the revised plans/documents to a Development Services Coordinator. Please
