Subject:BLD2012-0925 Walgreens Drugstore: 9797 Edmonds Way
The following pre-application has been evaluated under the 2009 International and
Edmonds Community Development Codes.
CIVILS
1. Sheet C-100 Show turn radius calculation at NE corner of lot, minimum 20’ inner
and 40’ outer radii.
2. Sheet C-100 & A-100 Fire access roads shall be striped on both boundaries
with 4” yellow perimeter or curb striping and identified with words “FIRE LANE –
NO PARKING”. Letters shall be 12” high with 2” stroke spaced 50 lineal feet on
alternating insides of lane.
3. Sheet C-111 or F-510 Callout fire protection system double check detector
assembly (DCDA) location, or, If interior installed:
Callout Fire Connection Permit (sheet G-010). Fire connection permit is
required for the installation of the underground supply for your fire
protection system. Underground design must be stamped by registered
PE or a Level III (WA) fire sprinkler contractor AND the installer must
also stamp the plans. The installer must be either Level III or Level “U”
fire sprinkler contractor licensed by the State. Provide three copies of
plans showing all valves, vault location, post indicating valve, fire
department connection and piping to include size and material, hydraulic
calculations, thrust blocking with calculations, pipe bury depth and any
and all other materials used and their fire protection listings. RCW

4. Sheet C-111 Provide post protection for FDC along access drive at SE corner.

SITE/GENERAL:
5. Sheet G-020 & E-121 Add illuminated exit signs in retail area clearly indicating
the direction towards nearest exit at following locations: (D.9-1.8), (A.9-1.8).
6. Sheet G-020 & E-121 Mounting height for retail exit signs should provide for
greatest visibility over floor shelving, under hanging fixtures, and in-between
signage.
7. Sheet A-111 or F-510 Provide minimum rated 2A:10B:C fire extinguishers for
light hazard, conspicuously located no greater than 75’ travel distance
throughout.
8. Sheet A-111 & F-510 Provide floor paint with 4” wide yellow striping with “KEEP
CLEAR” for \[21 10 01\] fire riser area.
9. Sheet A-111 & F-510 & E-161 Collocate FACP at fire riser area \[21 10 01\] .
10. F-510 & E-161 Fire alarm system is provided for fire sprinkler monitoring and
notification throughout.
11. Sheet A-210 & A-730 Callout building address numbers “9797” minimum 6” with
¾” stroke on contrasting background at south-southwest exterior elevation and
visible from Edmonds Way.
12. Sheet A-210 & F-510 Callout FIRE PROTECTION CONTROLS or similar
approved wording for sign at west access door to sprinkler riser area.
13. Sheet A-610 Door J and associated hardware at location (C1) must be openable
from exterior with key from Snohomish Fire District 1 Knoxbox, mounted
adjacent to door.
14. Sheet A-610 & F-510 Add note “Fire Dept lockbox required for installation.

425.775.7720”. Install box at suppression room entry.
15. Sheet F-510 Identify exterior canopies 4’ wide and greater with combustible
construction that will require sprinkler protection, or callout noncombustible
canopies and overhangs.
16. Sheet F-510 Correct telephone for AHJ is 425 771-0213
17. Sheet M-520 I calculate approx 125 lbs of type A1 refrigerant R-404A. This is
under the IFC-regulated control requirement of 220 lbs. Is this the correct
amount, intent, and only refrigerant utilized on-site?
