During review of the subject submittal, it was found that the following information, corrections, or
clarifications would need to be addressed. All Handouts and Standard Details referred to in these
comments can be accessed at our website: www.edmondswa.gov by choosing the Government tab and
Public Works| Engineering under Departments:
1. Please provide impervious surface calculations on this plan using the calculation box on the
worksheet in handout E72.
2. In the area of the proposed garage, please remove “existing asphalt”. If the existing
asphalt is to be used as the pad of the garage, please add notes to indicate that intent.
3. Please provide bottom elevation of footing or slab.
4. Add Grading calculations to the plan.
5. This has not been updated on our website yet but straw bales are no longer an approved
tesc measure by the doe or wsdot and therefore the City of Edmonds. Please replace with
an approved measure. A very similar measure would be straw or compost wattles.
6. There appears to be a public storm pipe crossing the proposed location of the garage.
Please see the maps and easement attached. Please make changes to the plan to reflect
this information.
7. Please provide top and bottom elevation of landscape block wall.
8. Will the asphalt north of the proposed garage remain or will it be replaced? Update plan if
necessary. Provide dimensions of the driveway area.
9. It appears there is some asphalt to the south and east of the proposed garage location as
well. Please note if it will be removed and what will be in it’s place or if it will remain.
Please add dimensions to the area if it is to remain impervious.
10. How will the driveway area connect to the concrete pad next to the house. Please clearly
define all areas of impervious surface on the property and the dimensions of the areas.
Label clearly if new, replaced or existing. Remember to account for all these areas in the
impervious surface calculation box.
Please resubmit 3 copies of the revised plans/documents to a Development Services Coordinator. Please
contact me at 425-771-0220 if you have specific questions regarding these plan corrections.
