Dear Mr. Finch:
I have reviewed your May 1, 2015 resubmittal for the above building permit applicationfor the Planning
Division,and it was found that the following information, corrections, or clarifications will need to be
addressedbefore review can continue:
Portables:
1.Thank you for submitting a letter explaining that the proposed portable classroombuildingis
necessary due to a State mandated reduction in class sizes. ECDC 17.100.050.L indicates that portable
classrooms are allowed where the applicant demonstrates by substantial evidence that additional space is
necessary to accomplish the educational mission or objectives of the school in accordance with
applicable state and federal statutes, regulations and guidelines. Although your letter states that there is
a need for the portable, it does not provide numerical evidence indicating why the State mandated
reduction in class size cannot be accounted for elsewhere within the existing classrooms on the site.
Therefore, please provide additionalevidence demonstrating the need for the portable classroom
building.This evidence should include numerical information, such as thedesign capacity for the
school, the current student population, the numberof students allowed per classroom, the number of
existing classrooms at the school, and any other relevant information that demonstratesthe need for the
proposed portable classroom building.
Please submitthe requested documentationto a Development Services Permit Coordinator. Our office hours
are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays between 8:00am and 4:30pm, and Wednesdays between
8:00am and noon. Please note that the Permit Center will be closed on Wednesdays starting in June.
