Project: Edmonds Hero Ace Hardware
Scope: Remodel of existing grocery store.
During review of the plans for the above project, it was found that the following
information, clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as
to where the changes can be found on the plans and please cloud the changes or
additions. It is preferred that only the affected plan sheets be resubmitted:
1. Call out “Deferred Submittals: Fire Sprinkler modification, Fire Alarm
modification, fire suppression system for self contained electric deep fryer”.
a. The fire sprinkler heads on site appear to be close to 50 years
old. Testing or replacement is required at 50 years.
b. The fire alarm system will need to be upgraded to meet current
requirements, notification devices and monitoring if not present.
2. Door #6 appears to be a swingging gate. Gate must be properly size for egress
purposes, have illuminated exit and egress lighting and panic hardware.
3. Call out fire extinguishers with signs, properly spaced and mounted.
4. Update premise ID meet standard of 12” high, minimum ½” stroke and
contrasting colors. Installation location to be determined by Fire Marshal. If not
present or adequate.
5. Call out: Details and construction documents for the covering of the “garden
area”. Fire sprinkler coverage may be required.
6. Update parking lot fire lane markings per standard if necessary.
7. Update Fire Department Connection - 4” storz adapter with 30 degree downturn
and proper signage per NFPA 13.
6. Call out, “Fire Marshal Contact: Deputy Fire Marshal Karl Fitterer, 425-775-
7720”
