During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses to each comment as to how it
has been addressed, and where changes can be found on the plans. Please submit revised
plans/documents to Theresa Umbaugh, Senior Permit Coordinator.
1.The new deck framing plan submitted does not match the deck shown on the site plan. Please
revise to match.
2.The new engineered plan submitted only shows bracing. Submit a new dimensioned deck
framing plan (matching the deck layout shown on the bracing plan) showing:
a.Joist size/spacing/species
b.Beam size/species
c.Post size
d.Footing size
e.Beam span between posts
f.Span of joists
g.Reference ledger detail
h.Show where detail P applies on the framing plan
i.Dimension the deck overhang
j.Label the area between the deck and house that the bracing plan shows the deck is
being framed around (this was not on the original framing plan). Is this a set of
stairs? If so, provide stair construction detail.
3.Revise detail P to show span of joists
4.Revise the typical deck section to match how the deck will actually be built and reference
correct details. (previous item 5)
5.As previously requested (item 4), have the engineer justify the deck connection to wall. This
is not considered conventional construction and requires engineered calculation to show
compliance.
