Burke Residence 140714_Memo s1310028.pdf 7/14/14 To: Leif Bjorback Building Official City of Edmonds From: Ron Skinner, PE Re: Burke Residence 17903 Vista Del Mar Drive Edmonds, WA Grade Beam leveling footing SSS# s1310028 On July 8, 2014 I conducted a site visit at the above mentioned address to observe the existing condition of the poured footings. I was provided photo’s of the steel and footing form work from before the pour. From the sampling provided, there is sufficient evidence to conclude that the necessary elements are present to perform as intended. Clear cover is difficult to determine in the photos, but I would anticipate minimal moisture given the slope and with adequate water-proofing of the walls and good footing drains, I am comfortable that any marginalized clear cover will not become a detriment to the footings. They will perform as intended. The basement is being constructed as slab on grade with in floor heating so to accommodate the insulation requirements, I am providing an alternate grade beam for the location shown on the attached key plan, I’ve identified it as GB2. The other grade beams on the key plan are identified as GB (note, a 6’ option was previously provided) and those not supported by piles are per the typical stem wall detail on sheet 9. The attached detail SF – Stepped Footing If you have any questions or require additional information, please call.
