During review of the above noted application, it was found that the following information,
corrections, or clarifications are needed. Please redline plans or submit three (3) sets of revised
plans/documents with a written response to each of the items below to Marie Harrison.
City of Edmonds handouts and standard details can be referenced on the City website under
Development Services Department, Engineering Division.
The currently submitted plans show the required fire hydrant located on private property. When hydrants are
located on private property then a Fire Connection permit would be required. The requirements would include
a vault with a double check detector assembly among other items.
So the Engineering division re-reviewed the plans with the Fire division reviewer and determined that if the
hydrant was located in the right of way just outside the property line of lot 1, it would be able to meet the
required distance from the hydrant to the end lots. This would significantly reduce your installation time and
cost.
The following two options are available to you at this point;
1) Resubmit plans showing the fire hydrant in the right of way near the corner of lot 1.
or
2) Review Handout #B32 and make a full submission for a Fire Connection permit.
