Dear Mr. Duffy & Ms. Lindstrom,
The City received a complaint regarding grading and drainage alterations to the critical area/shoreline
buffer at the subject property. A Notice was issued on July 22, 2016 to stop any further alteration until
formal approval was issued. Further alteration in the same area with a backhoe recently occurred that
initiates the following required actions.
• Again, stop any further alterations until a formal approval is issued.
• Please establish erosion control measures in the affected area using "best practices" methods
immediately.
• Please make a complete application for a Critical Areas determination by May 31, 2017.
• Please submit a written plan with your intentions in the altered area by June 8, 2017. The plan
would be either what you plan on developing or what your plan is to return the area to the pre -
alteration state. Once the City has a clear idea on what you plan on building, or not, further
direction can be provided regarding application materials or other requirements to bring the past
and/or future alteration into code compliance. Please note that a professional wetlands report will
likely be required with either option.
You may want to discuss your plans with the Planner on Duty in the Development Services Department
prior to completing your application or written plan.
