During review of the subject submittal, it was found that the following information, corrections, or
clarifications would need to be addressed. All Handouts referred to in these comments can be accessed at

Since installing the signs will nescessitate using the right of way for a period of time, a right of way
permit will be required.
1) I am sorry to inform you that due to the addition of the sign over the public right of way on the South
face of the Old Milltown building. A Street Use permit will be required.
Edmonds Community Development Code Chapter 18.70.000 Section B states A Street Use permit is
required “to place or maintain in, over or under any public place, right of way, roadway, parking strip,
and/or sidewalk, including the air space above them, any temporary or moveable object.”
This permit will also cover the sign on the North face of the building as it too is over public space. I missed
that the first round.
I am attaching a permit application which must be signed by the business owner and an example of the
insurance certification required from the business owners insurance company.
PLEASE NOTE: Insurance certification must cover 300,000 Personal Injury and 100,000 Property
Damage. The City of Edmonds must be named as the “additional insured”.
Once the application and the insurance certification are received Engineering will approve all permits.
Please resubmit 3 copies of the traffic control plans to an Engineering Technician. Please contact me at
