The following are our responses to structural comments made by Andrew Gahan of the City of
Edmonds in a Comment Letter dated February 3, 2016.
Item 5: The question marks are vestigial and will be removed.
Item 6: Please refer to the calculations. Straps are placed above and below the windows which,
acting with the continuous vertical jamb studs, serve to allow the wall height to be considered the
height of the window rather than plate to plate. Nonetheless, the ratio of h/I still slightly exceeds 2
and the calculations account for this in the manner required by SDPWS 4.3.4.
