This letter is in regards to the construction observation of the remodel in the above mentioned unit. We
have provided plans and details dated July 2018 showing the required framing at the removal of
existing walls.
OBSERVATIONS
We observed the existing conditions above the existing wall as shown in detail SK-1. There appears to
be two existing joists/beams directly above the top plate of the wall that has been removed. The
additional sistering or blocking shown in SK-1 is not required. The connection hardware shown in SK-2
(Simpson A35 & LTP4) may be substituted with similar gauge metal connectors located as shown that
fit within the wall. (2) Simpson H2.5A ties may be placed at either end of the 6x10 beam in lieu of the
ACE connectors shown in the framing plan.
