Dear RDJ Group,
In reference to the above permit application, the City of Edmonds, Department of Fire
Prevention has approved your application for a waiver to increase the slope of the driveway,
and thereby approves your civil plans.
I find it necessary to inform you that due to the driveways steep slope, the delivery of
emergency services including fire suppression, emergency medical services and rescue
operations may be hampered. The presence of residential fire sprinklers greatly enhances
our life safety efforts, but your residential sprinkler system (NFPA 13D) is designed for life
safety purposes only. It is not designed to save the structure.
