Project: Harborview Plaza -- main floor mechanical
Project Address: 152 3rd Ave S
During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Provide written responses to each comment and where
changes can be found on the plans. Please resubmit to Theresa Umbaugh, Permit Coordinator.
1.On the duct layout plan, distinguish existing ductwork from new or altered ductwork.
2.On the duct layout plan, what does NSO stand for?
3.What do the shaded areas of the duct layout plan represent?
4.There is no mechanical shown for the east portion of the building. Verify and show/note on the
plans that no alterations will be made in these areas and that the mechanical systems are separate
from the remaining portion of the building.
5.Both Fire and Smoke Dampers or Combination Fire/Smoke Dampers are required where the
ducts penetrate the corridor wall. IBC 716.5.4 & 716.5.4.1
6.Show how return or exhaust air is being handled at the corridor. Only supply ducts are shown o
the duct layout plan (IMC 403.1).
7.Where ducts cross the corridor, but there are no openings serving the corridor, note the gauge of
steel duct to be used (see IBC 716.5.4.1 exception 2 which requires 0.019 inches).
