Dear Mr. LaFon,

In response to your letter dated October 24, 2006 requesting modification to allow a permanent
step at the southeast bedroom window of your home in order to meet minimum sill height of 44
inches --the modification is hereby granted subject to the following conditions:
• The step shall be permanently affixed
• The step rise shall not exceed 7 3/4" inches
• The step width shall be 12" inches minimum
• The length of the step shall run the full width of the openable portion of the
window
• All other egress window requirements of IRC Section R 310 shall be met
• All future owners shall be advised of this modification approval
