Dear Mr. Mann:
I have reviewed your request for an extension of time that you submitted on behalf of Mr.

Milosavljevic. As you are aware, these permits were applied for on August 12 2008.
Permit applications are valid for 360 days in accordance with 19.00.025F of the
Edmonds Municipal Code (ECDC). Permits may be extended for an additional 360 days
as provided by the code. These permit applications were extended last year. Permit
applications may not be extended more than once. Please see the attached excerpt from
the ECDC.
1. Applications, for which no permit is issued within 360 days
following the date of application, shall expire by limitation, and plans and other
data submitted for review may thereafter be returned to the applicant or
destroyed by the building official.
2. The building official may extend the time for action by the applicant
for a period not exceeding 360 days prior to such expiration date.
3. No application shall be extended more than once for a total
application life of 720 days. In order to renew action on an expired application,
the applicant shall submit a new application, revised plans based on any
applicable code or ordinance change, and pay new plan review fees.
The code as written does not permit an additional extension of time for these applications
and I am unable to grant the request. If you are aware of some other authority for action
that I may have missed, please provide the reference and I will review. The request
submitted did not contain any documentation that could be considered to provide an
alternate decision.
I realize that this creates some difficulty, however, your client may certainly apply for a
new permit for the project and would then have 360 days to complete action on the new
application.
