The project owner (Mr. Milosavljevich) is requesting that the City allow a partial
resubmittal in order to obtain a repair permit for the existing wood building. The objective
is to prevent further damage of the building while the pier replacement permit is being
processed.
Currently the northeast portion of the structure is missing, which leaves the wood framing
exposed to the weather. Because most of the framing is not preservative treated, the
structural members are susceptible to further decay. The missing structure also leaves the
building more vulnerable to further damage under high wind conditions.
CG Engineering would revise the building repair drawings (sheets SR -1, SR -2 & SR -3) to
show the repair work to be done while the existing wood pier is still in place. This would
include details of the connection to the existing wood pier. Connection to the new pier
would be shown on the pier upgrade drawings and accomplished at the time it is
constructed.
