Edmonds, WA. 98020 Case: # ZE-07-120 (2007 – 0049) Location: 23415 W., Edmonds, WA. 98020 Dear Mr. Landers, The City has received a complaint regarding your fence height (being over 6 feet from original grade) The following extracted code sections in the Edmonds Community Development Code (ECDC) would apply (bold added) 17.30.000 General. A. A fence permit shall be required for any fence over three feet in height which is also within 10 feet of any street right-of-way or access easement or within 30 feet of any corner. Height shall be measured from the top of the fence to the lowest original grade. B. A fence permit shall be required for any fence within a critical area or its buffer. C. Unless a variance is first obtained, no fence shall be more than six feet in height as measured from the top of the fence to the lowest original grade. Corrective actions: Please reduce the height of the fence to be no more than six feet in height as measured from the · top of the fence to the lowest original grade by May 25, 2007 or; Please submit a complete application for a fence permit at your earliest convenience by May 25, · 2007. A Permit Coordinator will accept your application. As noted above, if you wish to apply for a fence over 6 feet tall, a variance application is also required. There is no guarantee that a variance will be granted if an application is submitted. A Planner can answer questions regarding variance criteria.
