During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information, clarifications or changes are needed. Provide written responses to each comment and where changes can be found on the plans. Please resubmit 2 sets of revised plans to Marie Harrison, Permit Coordinator. 1.Provide a detailed written scope of work on the plans. 2.Note the Type of Construction (VA) and occupancy (R2). 3.Note that exhaust fans must vent to the outside, and provide a detail showing how venting will be accomplished and still maintain 1-hour floor-ceiling and roof-ceiling assemblies (such as with shafts, lined joist bays, soffits below the 1-hour construction, etc.). 4.All penetrations in existing exposed walls and newly constructed walls must be fire stopped per IBC 712. Provide listed and tested fire stopping assemblies (such as UL) on the plans for the various types of penetrations. 5.Revise smoke detector note: Smoke detectors must be hardwired with battery backup and interconnected within the dwelling units. 6.Provide listed and tested 1-hour assemblies on the plans for: a.1-hour roof-ceiling assembly. b.1-hour floor-ceiling assembly (where sheetrock is removed) with insulation to maximum extent possible for sound (IBC 1207). Note insulation R-value on the plans. c.1-hour wall assembly (new walls and existing walls where sheetrock is removed) with insulation to maximum extent possible for sound where adjoining common areas. Note insulation R-value on the plans. d.1-hour party wall assembly (where sheetrock is removed) with insulation to maximum extent possible for sound. Note insulation R-value on the plans. 7.Insulate exposed and repaired exterior walls to maximum extent possible (R15 for 2x4 construction, R21 for 2x6 construction).
