Ord 2113 R-9-79 & R-10-79.pdfAN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, BY DESIGNATING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY NEWLY ANNEXED INTO THE CITY AS SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE - 8,000 (RS -8) AND CERTAIN OTHER NEWLY ANNEXED PROPERTY AS SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE, WATERFRONT - 12,000 (RSW - 12), PURSUANT TO PLANNING COMMISSION RESO- LUTION NOS. 641 AND 642. WHEREAS, the Edmonds Planning Commission held a public hearing regarding establishing zoning classifications on property newly annexed to the City and has forwarded its recommendations to the City Council in Planning Commission Resolution No. 641 and 642, and WHEREAS, the Edmonds City Council called a public meeting and at said public meeting having considered the Planning Commission's recommendations and having found: 1. That certain portions of the property newly annexed into the City which formerly comprised the northwest traction right-of-way should be designated as Single Family Residence 8,000 (RS 8•) on the Official Zoning Map because such zoning is compatible with the Edmonds Policy Plan and is consistent with existing zoning and land use of neighboring and surrounding property. 2. That certain portions of the newly annexed pro- perty bordering on Lake Ballinger should be designated as Single Family Residence, Waterfront - 12,000 (RSW - 12) for the reason that said zoning classification is consistent with the Edmonds Policy Plan and with the use and zoning classification of sur- rounding properties. 3. That designating the respective properties as set forth in this Ordinance would be in the best interest of the public health, safety and general welfare and would not be detri- mental to the surrounding properties. 4. That the City Council concurs in the finding and recommendations of the Responsible City Official. that there will be no significant adverse environmental impacts as a result of the changes of the zoning classifications set forth herein, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Official Zoning Map of the City of Edmonds, Washington, is hereby amended by designating the zoning classification of that certain parcel of real property situate in the City of Edmonds, Washington, which is described in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated in full by this reference, as Single Family Residence 8,000 (RS 8). Section 2. The Official Zoning Map of the City of Edmonds, Washington, is hereby amended by designating the zoning classification of that certain parcel of real property situate in the City of Edmonds, Washington, which is described on Exhibit "B", attached hereto and incorporated in full by this reference, as Single Family Residence, Waterfront - 12,000 (RSW - 12). Section 3. The Director of Community Development is hereby authorized and directed to effecutate the necessary amend- ments to the Official Zoning Map of the City of Edmonds, Washington, pursuant to this Ordinance.
