Dear Mr. Paulson,
The City has received a complaint regarding a new shed constructed in the SE corner of your
property. An inspection was made and it appears that the shed is in the side setback and possibly
in the rear setback A building permit is also required for accessory structures over 120 square
feet.
The subject property is in the RM-1.5 Zone which requires a 10 foot side yard setback and 15
foot rear setback. An accessory structure under 600 square feet can have the rear setback reduced
to 5 feet. Eaves may project into the required setback not more than 30 inches.
Corrective actions required:
Please contact me at your earliest convenience by May 15, 2007 to confirm receipt of this

information and to review the following corrective actions.
If the building is over 120 square feet, please submit a complete application and fees for a

building permit by May 31, 2007. A handout is enclosed regarding accessory buildings.
Please note that if the building is less than 120 square feet, it will need to be confirmed.
Regardless of size, the building needs to be relocated to meet the 10 foot side setback and

5 foot rear setback by May 31, 2007.
