Please review and pass this plan review over to the Salon owner and/or management.
Products used in your industry may include tints, coloring, peroxides, toners, lighteners, relaxers, nail polish and nail polish removers, acetone and other chemicals. Some of these
may contain acids, alkalis or flammable solvents. All of the items mentioned above can upset the biological process of the City of Edmonds Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Do not dispose of any product or chemical down any drain that may enter the sewer collection system. When disposing products or chemicals please follow the proper waste disposal methods.
Install drain hair screens or a hair interceptor (like ones made by Zurn Manufacturing) on hair sinks drains. This will reduce the amount of hair entering the sink drains and help to
prevent drain and sewer line blockages.
If you have any questions about proper product disposal methods or hazardous waste drop off facilities, please contact the Snohomish Health District’s Local Source Control Program.
