The subject application has been reviewed but cannot be completed until the following
items have been addressed/completed. Please submit 3 sets of revised drawings to a
Development Services Permit Coordinator, if required, or a written response to the review
comments to the Development Services Permit Coordinator and the Pretreatment
Reviewer.
The City of Edmonds is requiring that dental clinics use and service, according to
manufacturer’s recommendations, amalgam separators. However, there are
specialty exemptions such as: Periodontist, Orthodontist, and clinics that perform
Oral and maxillofacial surgery. Endodontist or Prosthodontist that can
demonstrate that they do not perform general dentistry.
Please respond back whether this facility has an amalgam separator or not. If it
does not, a City of Edmonds plumbing permit will be required for this installation.
When the clinic is open for business a City of Edmonds dental survey will be
required to be completed with the Pretreatment Technician and a representative of
the Snohomish Health District. This survey is to ensure that Best Management
Practises are being observed and determine what make and model of amalgam
separator is being utilized at this clinic.
