The proposed location of a trash enclosure/room at the southwest comer adjacent to the
real- alleyway is appropriate. However, the servicing and use of this area requires there
be no slope exceeding 2 % from alley grade to the enclosure floor. The elevations are
unclear what the true grade relationship is at this point.
The elevation also indicates a rather short finished height for the trash room. The
minimum height of a collection area within a building is 8 foot, exclusive of lighting,
sprinklers, etc. The elevation suggests the height is less than 6 foot.
While the footprint size of the trash room is appropriate, the entrance gates/doorways
need to be able to open across the whole width of the room (indicated as approximately
16' on the plan), making the entire room accessible and providing the ability to maneuver
the larger wheeled containers.

comments.
