Please be aware than an Environmental Site Assessment was performed by Shannon & Wilson, Inc. in conjunction with the proposed Edmonds Commuter Rail Station. The assessment, dated February 9, 2004 and prepared for the exlusive use of Sound Transit, concludes (not in it’s entirety) that soils within the Edmonds Station site contain various concentrations of metals (Mercury & Lead), Petroleum, tetrachlorethene (PCE) and carcinogenic aromatic hydrocarbons (cPAHs). The report states “Based on the analytical results and comparison to Washington State Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) Method A cleanup criteria for unrestricted land use, several contaminants of concern exceed regulatory levels.” If contaminated soils exist at the subject site, the applicant shall adhere to all local State and Federal codes and regulations for soil remdediation and Edmonds Community Development Code Chapter 7.90 for trench dewatering.
