PURPOSE AND SCOPE
A field representative of CG Engineering was on site on August 16, 2019 to observe the structural slab
and upper grade beam reinforcing. Prior to our site visit, approximately 75'-0" total length of lower
concrete grade beam had been poured and completed, along with the block retaining wall below the
structural slab and upper grade beam. The epoxied dowel bars had been installed and set in place.
EXISTING BUILDING
The existing building is a single family residential structure that had experienced settlement to the
downhill side. The existing rockery wall at the edge of the rear patio was removed and will be replaced
with an allan block and geogrid wall system supported by a concrete grade beam. The concrete patio
slab will then be replaced with a new structural slab. At the time of our site visit, the entire length of
block retaining wall and supporting structure below had been installed.
OBSERVATIONS
Structural Slab Reinforcing — While on -site, we observed the reinforcing for the structural slab
and upper grade beam, which were placed prior to our arrival. The slab reinforcing was properly
drilled and epoxied into the existing foundation wall as observed during a previous site visit.
The slab and grade beam reinforcing appeared to conform to the requirements of the approved
structural drawings and no issues were noted.
To the best of our knowledge, the construction that we observed was in accordance with the approved
structural drawings. _
