Old Business:
Joan and Terry will take the OPMA Training this month.
The Mayor and Finance are looking at the Cemetery Funds 130 and 137 and what
the Cemetery's needs are going forward i.e. capital expenditures and
improvements to the Cemetery. Discussion: the Board would like to start the
process of exploring an expansion to the existing Columbarium and how we start
that process. Angie gave the Board information about how that would work
through a formal proposal process and deciding on a time line. The plan would be
for Jerry to meet with Angie, for several Board Members to do a Cemetery walk
through with Cliff, Rich and Angie and then begin to formulate a plan.
New Business:
Angie reports that prospective new Board member Ashley Robinson went before
the City Council on September 15th and was approved on the consent agenda to
join the Board. Jerry and Angie will reach out to Ashley and invite her to the
October Board meeting.
Comprehensive Plan discussion: Jerry will meet with Angie this month to begin
the discussion about this Plan.
Announcements:
Betty has finished her Edmonds Pioneer Biography project and is currently
reviewing and editing it. Kerry proposes that the Board, with Betty's consent and
help to use this to launch a virtual tour for the public and school children, possibly
working it into the Walk Back in Time event next July. More discussion about how
to use the biographies will continue in October.
Brief discussion about Memorial Day 2021 and that we would probably use all of
the materials and plans that were put together for the 2020 program which was
cancelled because of Covid -19. Discussion to continue at future Board meetings.
Adjournment:
The meeting was adjourned at 4:50pm
Next Meeting:
4pm, Thursday, October 15, 2020 via Zoom.
