Edmonds Downtown Alliance MinutesEdmonds Downtown AL-IANCE Meeting called to order: 8:04 AM August 13, 2020 8:04 AM — 8:52 AM Virtual: Zoom Meeting Board Members/Administration in Attendance: Matt McCulloch, Jenny Shore, Carol Sheldon, Mark VonGunten, Pam Stuller, Kali Kelnero, Cheryl Farrish, Kimberly Koenig, Jen Lawson, Deandra Peterson, and Carrie Hulbert. City of Edmonds Representatives in Attendance: Cindy Cruz and Patrick Doherty Guests: Olivia Brown -Latham, Seattle Sugar Spa Public Comment: Olivia Brown -Latham said that she is looking forward to getting more involved with the BID. Election of new Officers for 2021: Pam Stuller- President, Kimberly Koenig- Vice President, Cheryl Farrish- Secretary, Kali Kelnero- Treasurer. All were elected by a unanimous vote through secret ballot. Approval of Previous Meeting's Minutes: Matt proposed to approve the July 9, 2020 meeting minutes. Mark and Kimberly seconded the motion. All approved, none opposed. Presidents Report: Matt thanked everyone for all that they have done this year then turned the meeting over to Pam. Pam thanked Matt for all of his work in this difficult year. Pam told about the Roundtable held last week. Survey has 60% response. Perspectives and opinions varied. The Roundtable had 19 participants. The top 5 issues are: 1. Parking (clear signage), 2. Safety (social distancing, masks), 3. Signage & barriers (look and feel), 4. Timing (which days?), 5. Communication. Priorities for 2021 will be upcoming budgeting meetings, everyone could look for new ideas and ask neighbors for ideas. Chamber of Commerce is considering having a Candy Cane Lane on the 41" Avenue Corridor. Workhorse is doing headshots for a Chamber Fundraiser. Diversity Commission is looking for partnership with BID member, Matt volunteered. Treasurers Report Kali reported a budget shortage of $13,000 less than last year at this time. Carrie added that P Quarter assessments are due in September. New Businesses Added to BID: Nicole Ivancovich Therapy, Luminosity Color Studio, Brazen Venture Business Consulting, and Elizabeth F Copstead CPA. City Update: Patrick reported that they have been decision making about Walkable Weekends and Main Street closures. Some 5t" Avenue businesses are not happy. Ending date will be decided soon. They are considering allowing restaurants to use the parking spaces in front of their restaurants to serve food throughout the week. It is hard to enforce the "Family Diner" regulation put in place by the governor for restaurants. Considering having an Ambassador or enhanced signage. Chamber is considering a Candy Cane Lane on 4t" Avenue this December; the City is open to the idea and are working with Greg Urban. Diversity Commission Committee wants to meet with Ed! member for brainstorming. Matt and Olivia have volunteered. Committee Updates: Marketing: Kimberly said they will be holding a meeting soon to revise the budget. Appearance and Environment: Pam gave Roundtable feedback. Umbrellas are in, they will not be put out until the Covid virus is over. The painting of the new mural has begun. Jenny moved that we pay $1,500 to the Mural Comm. Kimberly seconded the motion. The motion passed with 100% approval. Communication and Outreach: We have received 7 surveys; we can continue marketing them. Administration: Executive Committee will be looking at budget and revamping. Meeting adjourned: 8:52 AM
