The City has received a request to verify the allowed use of portions of the church for daycare
purposes. According to City records, the most recent certificate of occupancy issued for the church
facility lists Occupancy Groups A-2, A-3 and B resulting from work done under building permit
BLD2002-0377. While the certificate of occupancy does not list an occupancy group for Daycare, it
is evident on the approved plans for the referenced permit that a portion of the facility is indicated
for use as E-3 occupancy, which is specific to daycare according to the 1997 Uniform Building
Code.
Specifically, the following rooms located on the Main Floor level are labeled as E-3:
138 Nursery
140 Toddlers
141 Child Center / 2 year olds
143 Child Center / 3 year olds
147 Child Center / 4 year olds
