Call to Order
Jerry called the meeting to order at 4:08pm

Purpose of this special meeting: To firm up plans for the Memorial Day Drive -Through event.
Chair Report
• Jerry opened the meeting by discussing the items needing firming up today for the Memorial Day Drive -
Through event
Memorial Day Event Planning:
• Event Program - We went over and discussed the program submitted to us by Melissa via email.
Corrections and changes were made and agreed upon. Kerry will let Melissa know what these changes
are and Melissa will get them done at the end of the week. It was decided that a cover page for the
program would be made. Tracy will work on this with Melissa. It was decided that 250 programs will
be printed up for the event.
• Poppies - Jerry reported that Melissa talked with Mike Denton from the VFW and they will provide us
with poppies. It was decided that 250 poppies will be ordered and the board will pay for them.
• Publicity - Betty will take care of getting publicity about the Memorial Day event to My Edmond's
News. Jerry will take care of getting an article and publicity to the Beacon. Kim reported that part of
our package that we have with My Edmond's News is a Sponsor Spotlight. Kim will submit an article
given to her by the board to be printed twice this month in our Sponsor Spotlight.
• Channel 21- Channel 21 will begin this Friday, May 71h, publicizing the Memorial Day Drive -Through
event, and will continue publicizing it through the end of May.
• Posters - Kim reported that the poster is already designed and displayed an example for us to look at.
It was decided to go with the poster as designed, except to change the email address for More
Information on the poster to a link to the City of Edmonds website that will contain information on the
Memorial Day event along with a FAQ section. Ashely will put this information together and send it to
Kim to be put on the website. Kim will let the board know when the posters are printed up and we will
pick them up and distribute them around downtown Edmonds and Westgate shopping area.
• Music - It was the consensus of the board to not have music at this year's Memorial Day event.
Announcements:
Kim reported that the board's subscription to ThingLink will expire in a month if not renewed.
ThingLink is the service we used last year for the virtual Walk Back In Time event. ThingLink allows
one to click on an image to open up text. It was decided to have this on the agenda for the May 201n
board meeting.
