An Ordinance adopting the budget for the City of Edmonds for the year 1931, and levying the general taxes for the said City for the fiscal year commencing January lst, 1931, on all taxable property, both real and personal, in the said City subject to tax- ation thereon for the purpose'of raising sufficient revenue to carry on the different departments of the said City for the ensuing year as required by the lags of the state of YVashington prescribing and apportioning the sum to the different funds of the said City for the said fiscal year providing for the collection thereof and repeal- ing all ordinances in conflict therewith. WHEREAS on the 2nd day of September, 1931, the City coun- cil of the City of Edmonds, duly and regularly adopted the estimate of the amounts required to meet the public expenses of the said City for the ensuing year and the amount -to be raised by taxation in the said City for the ensuing year; and 'HERE:S due notice that the said City council tentatively completed the budget of the City of Edmonds for the year 1931 and that the city council did meet in the council chamber of the City Hall on the �th day of October, 1931, at 8 o'clock P. me for the purpose of fixing the final budget and designating the tax levy, and that any taxpayer might appear thereat and be heard for or against any part of the said budget published in the official newspaper of the sSid City in all respects as required by law; and WHE_C lEAS the said City council did on ,the Oth day of October, 1930, meet in the council chamber of said city at 6 o'clock F. IT. for the purposes aforesaid and having hear'_ all_persons appearing in favor or against the said proposed tax levy did then and there make, determine and decide the amount of taxes to be placed on the current assessment rolls thereby the sum of ,)14,467.88, approportioned as hereinafter described, now therefore, 1. Section 1: That pursuant to Chapter 158, Laws of 1923, a budget for the City of Edmonds for the year 1931 )tas now on file in the office of the city Clerk of said City of Edmonds is hereby adopted. Section 2. That there be and there is hereby levied on the real and personal property of said City subject to taxation therein a general tax for municipal purposes for the ensuing year toms incing January 1, 1931, the sure of14,467.88. Section 3. That tree City Clerk be and he is hereby directed to certify to the County Assessor a copy of this ordinance in order that the same may be estimated upon the general assessment roll of the county of Snohomish in the same manner and at the same time that the levy for the state and county purposes is extended. Section 5. That the said taxes shall be levied and paid into the City Treasury- at the time and in the manner provided by the laws of the state of Washington relating to the' collection of taxes.in cities of the third class. Section 6. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 7. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after five days after its passage, approval and publication.
