Ordinance 0475ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE authorizing the expenditure of $1,100.00 for. the purpose of repairing the pavement by regrading, removing the bulk- head and extending the culvert on 5th Street about 400 feet Bout of Walnut Street, in the City of Edmonds and declaring an emergency. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS DO ORDAIN. AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That an expenditure in the estimated amount of .$1,100.00 is hereby authorized for the purpose of grading and filling the roadway and of repairing the pavement, and of removing the bulk- head and extending the culvert on 5th Street about 400 feet south of its intersection with Walnut Street in the City of Edmonds, Washington. Section 2• That an emergency is hereby declared to exist which could not reasonably been forseen at the time of making of the city budget, by reason of the fact that the bulkhead on said -street at the place indicated in the proceeding sectioni is now in a state of collapse and the safety of traffic is endangered thereby. Section 3. That all expenditures made under the authorizat- ion of this ordinance shall be paid for by the issuance of emergency warrants. Such emergency warrants shall be paid from any monies on hand in the city treasury in the fund properly chargeable with such expenditure and the city treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to pay such warrants out of any such monies. If at any time there shall be insufficient money to pay any such emergency warrant such warrant shall be registered, bear interest and be called in the same manner as other city warrants. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passgge, approval and publication as provided by law. Introduced this 16th day of December, 1930.
