AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY. OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
DECREASING THE SPEED ON A PORTION OF STATE HIGH-
WAY NO. 524. FROM 35 MILES PER HOUR. TO 30 :'MILES
PER HOUR BY AMENDING SECTION 8.16.030.OF THE
EDMONDS CITY CODE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY. OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
The Edmonds City Code, ,Section 8.16.030, is hereby
amended to read as follows in order to: reduce the speed
limit from 35 Miles Per Hour to 30 Miles Per Hour
certain portions of State Highway #524 being Puget
Drive, 9th Avenue North, Casper and 3rd Avenue:
°8.16.030 Increasing speed limit in certain. zones
It is hereby determined upon thebasis of an
engineering and traffic investigation that the
speed permitted by state: law upon the .following
streets is less than is necessary for safe
operation of vehicles thereon by reason of the
designation and signposting of said streets. as
arterial highways and by reason of widely
spaced intersections and it is hereby declared
that the speed limit shall be as hereinafter
set forth on those streets or parts. of .streets
herein designated at the times specified when
signs are erected giving notice thereof, but
in no case shall thespeed limit exceed thirty-
five miles. per hour, except with approval of
state highway commission.
