AN. .ORDINANCE LEVYING.THE GENERAL :TAXES .FOR THE
CITY. OF EDMOND.S FOR THE .FISCAL YEAR .COMMEN.CING
JANUA,RY 1, .1970, ON ;ALL PROPERTY.,: BOTH: REAL AND
PERSONAL, IN SAID CITY, SUBJECT. .TO TAXATION :FOR
THE PURPOSE OF RAISING SUFFICIENT REVENUE TO
CARRY. ON THE SEVERAL DEPARTMENTS,OF SAID CITY
FOR THE ENSUING YEAR AS REQUIRED BY LAW;. AND
PROVIDING FOR .THE COLLECTION THEREOF.

WHEREAS, the. City. Council of the .City of Edmonds
having ascertained the amounts.necess-ary and available to.
be :raised by taxation of real, personal and utility p.rop-
exty, now,. therefore, .
THE .CITY. C:OUN.CIL OF. THE CITY. OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
DO. ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS.
Secti'on' 1. There shall be and hereby is levied on
all real, personal and utility property -in the :City of
Edmonds, subject:to taxation,. current taxes for the. ensuing
year commencing January 1, 1970', the :sum of $4.76,3,77.09.
(which is 16 mills, or 13.1 adjusted mills in application
of RCW ..84.54.020.,. as amended) for the. current expense
fund and for the .Fireman's Pension :Fund as may be necessary
to maintain the' -actuarial soundness of said Fireman's.Pension
Fund, if any.
S'ecti'on 2. In addition to the :above .levies for the
ensuing fiscal year 1970,- there shall be'.and hereby is levied
current taxes: of'$35,992..50 (which .i.s approximately a 1..326.3
mill property. tax on an assessed. valuation of $27,137,'084.00 )
the purpose of which :is :to retire :thd .outs anding obligation
incurred by the City for Refunding General. Obligation Bonds
which.retired bonds that had been issued after an affirmative,
vote of the citi:zen:s in favor of the. construction. of Fire
Station No. :2 .for said City and the .construction of the
Edmonds Civic Center.
Secti'on 3. In addition to: the above levies for the.
ensuing fiscal year 1970',there shall be and hereby is
levied :current taxes of $.47,`435.00. (which is approximately
a 1.3003 mill property tax on an assessed valuation of
$36.,.479•,8'7.00)'. the purpose of which .is to retire the out-
standing obligation incurred by the City after an affirm-
ative. vote of the citzeris in favor of the .acquisition of
public parks.
Secti':on 4. This. -Ordinance shall be .certified to the
proper County. Officials as provided by law, and the. taxes.
here levied shall be collected and paid to. the City.
Treasurer of the City of Edmonds,.,at the. time and in the.
manner provided by th.e:laws. of the.State of Washington for
the .collection of taxes for third class cities..
