AN. ORDINANCE OF THE CITY: OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
CREATING TWO NEW SECTIONS. IN THE EDMONDS CITY.
CODE, SECTION 5.80..03.0.AND 5.80..040., P.ROHIBI:T
ING MOTOR.VEHICLES :(UNLESS. OTHERWI.SE.PO.STED),
AND./OR CONSUMPTION. OF INTOXICATING LIQUOR .IN
EDMONDS CI`.CY PARKS., AND. PROVIDING PENALTIES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY. OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS.:
Section I. There.is 'hereby created two new .sections
of the Edmonds City Code,.Sections 5.80..03.0.and 5.80..040.
providing as follows:
Section 5.80.03.0 Motor Vehicles Prohibited. 'from
City Parks. It. shall be: unlawful to operatemotor
vehicles of every kind and description, whether licensed
or unlicensed, specifically including two -wheeled motor
vehiclessuch as mini -bikes., moto.rcycles.'and trail -bikes.,
in or on any public park, beach:or playground within the
City of Edmonds whether owned by, leased or otherwise under
the supervision of said City of Edmonds, provided, the
Director of Parks. and Recreation is hereby authorized to
post a notice or notices prescribing parking areas, road-
ways, entrances and exits: for motor vehicles to and within
said public parks and beaches which posted areas, and only
said areas, .shall be open for motor. vehicular purposes
The .owner and/or operator of any said motor.veh.icle found
within or on any said public park, beach:or playground
other than in the areas posted as herein above provided
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
Section 5.80.040.
Drinking Intoxicants in
Public Parks: ' Prohibited. It shall be unlawful for
any person to consume any intoxicating liquor as
defined by Section 5.40.020, of the Edmonds

City. Code, within any public park, beach :or playground
within the City of Edmonds whether owned by, leased or
otherwise under the supervision of said city.
S`e:ction 2. Any person or persons who shall
violate.or fail to comply with.any of. the .provisions
of Section 5:80.03.0 :or 5.80..040 of the Edmonds City.
Code, or either of them, or any part thereof, shall upon
conviction of said.violation be punished by a fine, or
by imprisonment in jail, :or by both.such'fine and im-
prisonment as set Iorth..in Section.5.12.170 of the Edmonds
City. Code which .section by this reference is incorporated
herein as if set forth.in full.
