AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1454, BEING
THE 1970.BUDGET,:TO AUTHORIZE EXPENDITURES FROM
THE WATER AND SEWER DEPARTMENT FROM FUNDS RE-
CEIVED FROM FEDERAL AND STATE -GRANTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds pursuant to Resolution
Nos. 163 and 181 has applied for grants. under the provisions
of the Federal Pollution Control Act in conjunction with the
Washington State Pollution Control Commission, and
WHEREAS, by. Resolution No. 22.1, the City -has made
further application under the provisions of the Federal
Pollution Control Act and the Housing and Urban Development
Act,.and
WHEREAS, the City. of Edmonds has now received $133-,'700
from the United States government and the sum of $6.0,800 from
the State. of Washington in grants. for extensions and better-
ments of the water and sewer facilities of the. City of Edmonds,
now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY. OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Ordinance No. 1454, adopting the 1970 budget, be and
the same is hereby amended by the inclusion therein of the
sum of $194,500 in the Water. and Sewer Department which item
is hereby given the budget code designation 31.312, and
expenditures from said newly created budget item are hereby
authorized solely for the purpose of water and/or sewer.

shall be receipted and expended as hereinabove provided
for such grants having been previously received.
