AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
ADOPTING AS THE "HOUSING CODE" VOLUME III OF
THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE (INCLUDING APPENDICEES),
1970 EDITION, PROVIDING FOR THE MINIMUM REQUIRE-
MENTS FOR BUILDINGS OR PORTIONS THEREOF USED,
OR DESIGNATED OR INTENDED TO BE USED, FOR HUMAN
HABITATION, INCLUDING ALTERATION AND RELOCATION
THEREOF, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES, BY THE CREATION
OF A NEW CHAPTER OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE, CHAPTER
11.03.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
There is hereby created a new section
in the Edmonds City Code reading as follows:
"Section 11.03.010 Housing Code adopted by
reference. That certain printed code, three copies
of which have been on file in the Office of the
City Clerk, for use and examination of the public,
being marked, printed and designated as the Uniform
Building Code, Volume III (including the Appendicees),
1970 Edition, entitled "Housing", copyrighted in
1970 by the International Conference of Building
Officials, is hereby adopted as the Housing Code
for the City of Edmonds and by this reference is
incorporated herein as if fully set forth within
this chapter, subject to such modification and
amendments as may hereafter be provided, providing
for the minimum requirements for buildings or portions
thereof used, or designed or intended to be used
for human habitation including alteration or re-
location of the same, providing for permits and
inspections, appeals and procedures therefor,
and enforcement by the Building Official and
Board of Appeals, all pursuant to the laws of the
State of Washington as set forth under RCW 35.21.180."
Section 2. There is hereby created a new section
in the Edmonds City Code providing as follows:
"Section 11.03.020 Penalties. Any person, firm,
corporation or other organization violating any of
the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be subject to
penalty as provided in Section 5.12.170 of the
Edmonds City Code.
