AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 11.08.010 OF THE EDMONDS CITY
CODE BY ADOPTING THE 1970 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM
MECHANICAL CODE, VOLUME II OF THE UNIFORM BUILDING
CODE, AND REPEALING SECTIONS 11.08.020 THROUGH
11.08.070 OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Edmonds City Code, Section 11.08.010,
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 11.08.010 Adopted by reference. That
printed code, three copies of which are and have
been on file in the office of the City Clerk of the
City of Edmonds for use and examination of the public,
being marked, printed and designated as the Uniform
Mech.anical.Code, 1970 Edition, Volume II of the Uni-
form Building Code (specifically including Appendices
A, B and C, but excluding the UBC Standards set
forth in pages 259 - 261), copyrighted in 1970 by
the International Association of Plumbing and
Mechanical Officials and the International Conference
of Building Officials, is hereby adopted by reference
and incorporated herein as if set forth in full, as
the Uniform Mechanical Code of the City of Edmonds,
subject to the modifications and amendments herein-
after set forth, and the said code as adopted shall
regulate the minimum standards for the installation
and maintenance of heating, ventilating, comfort
cooling and refrigeration systems, providing for
fees, specifying regulation and enforcement including
a Board of Appeals, requiring permits and inspection,
pursuant to the Laws of the State of Washington as
set forth under RCW 35.21.180."
Section 2.
The following Sections of the Edmonds
City Code are hereby repealed: Sections 11.08.020 through
11.08.070.

Section 3. The Edmonds City Code is hereby amended
by the repeal of the following Sections of the Edmonds
City Code as the same now stands: Sections 11.12.030
through 11.12.070.
Section 4. The Edmonds City Code is hereby supple-
mented and amended by the adoption of a new Section 11.12.030
reading as follows:
"Sectiori'11.12.030 Deletion of reference to fuel
gas piping. Section 117 (e) of the Uniform Plumbing
Code as adopted herein is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"Sec. 117 (e) Plumbing System. The plumbing
system. -means and includes all potable water supply
and distribution pipes, all plumbing fixtures and
traps, all drainage and vent pipe and all building
drains, including their respective joints and con-
nections,.devices, receptacles and appurtenances
within the property lines of the premises and shall
include potable water piping, potable water treating
or using equipment, water heaters and vents for same."
