AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING THE ELECTRICAL CODE OF SAID CITY BY
DELETING SECTIONS 11.04.010 THROUGH 11.04.130
AND SECTION 11.04.150 OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE;
AMENDING SECTION 11.04.140 SUBSTITUTING
METALLIC RACEWAY FOR RIGID CONDUIT; AND CREATING
A NEW SECTION IN THE EVENT IT IS NECESSARY FOR
LOCAL ELECTRICAL INSPECTION IN PLACE OF STATE
INSPECTION, BEING SECTION 11.04.135.
WHEREAS the State of Washington has assumed primary
responsibility for electrical inspections, permits and
standards relative thereto making it unnecessary for the
City of Edmonds to provide extensive regulation by ordin-
ance, now, therefore.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Edmonds Electrical Code is hereby
amended by the repeal of the following sections of the
Edmonds City Code; Sections 11.04.010 through 11.04.130
and Section 11.04.150.
Section 2. The Electrical Code is hereby amended
by striking "rigid conduit" from Section 11.04.140 and
substituting "metallic raceway" in its place, and as
amended, said section shall read as follows:
"Section 11.04.140 Metallic raceway. All electri-
cal circuits installed in Fire Zone 1 of the City of
Edmonds shall be in metallic raceway."
Section 3. The Electrical Code is hereby supplemented
by the adoption of a new section in the Edmonds City Code
reading as follows:
"Section 11.04.135 Application. In the event
the State of Washington through its duly designated
electrical inspector, or inspectors, for any reason
fails to continue to inspect electrical installation,
license the same or provide standards, for any reason
whatsoever, the provisions of the Edmonds Electrical
Code shall be applicable to all electrical installa-
tion as if the State of Washington had not exercized
jurisdiction of any kind save and except those
provisions specifically adopted by the Edmonds
Electrical Code."
