ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING CHAPTER 8.48 TO ADD NEW SECTIONS PER-
MITTING THE DESIGNATION OF ANGLE PARKING ZONES,
DESIGNATING SUCH AN ANGLE PARKING ZONE FOR THE
WEST SIDE OF SUNSET AVENUE, AUTHORIZING THE
CITY ENGINEER TO DESIGNATE SUCH ANGLE PARKING
SPACES AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL
BECOME EFFECTIVE
WHEREAS, the City Council, after public comment, has
determined it is in the public interest to exercise the
discretion granted by RCW 46.90.270(4) and RCW 46.61.575(3) to
designate areas for angle parking, and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the public
interest to designate such an area along Sunset Avenue, now,
therefore,
FOLLOWS:
THE CITY COUNCIL OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS
Section 1. Chapter 8.48 is amended by the addition of
a new section 8.48.135, Angle Parking Required: Designation of
Effected Streets, to read as follows:
8.48.135 Anqle Parking Required: Designation of
Effected Streets.
In accordance with the provisions of RCW 46. 90.270(4)
and RCW 46.61.575(3), angle parking is permitted and
required on the following streets in the designated
areas and locations:
A. The west side of Sunset Avenue from Edmonds
Street, north for a distance of 330 feet.

deposes and says that she is over the age of eighteen (18) years and
is competent to testify as to the matter stated herein.
There is no official newspaper or other newspaper printed and
published within the City. In accordance with RCW 35A.12.160, on the
17th day of July, 1985, affiant posted true and correct copies of the
attached Ordinance No. 2509, passed by the City Council on the
16th day of July, 1985, at the official posting places for City
notices which are the public bulletin boards at the following
locations:

Section 2. Chapter 8.48 is hereby amended by the
addition of a new section 8.48.137, Other Than Angle Parking
Prohibited, to read as follows:
8.48.137 Other Than Angle Parking Prohibited.
When the City Council by ordinance has designated that
angle parking is required along any street or portion
thereof, and when signs are erected in each block of
said street or portion thereof, giving notice of such
requirement, no person shall stop, stand or park any
vehicle except in conformance with angle parking
requirements and the markings established by the
traffic engineer to regulate said parking.
Section 3. The traffic engineer is hereby authorized
to designate angle parking spaces along the west side of Sunset
Avenue and intersperse said parking spaces with reasonable areas
of no parking zones in order to facilitate backing and turning
from the adjacent residential properties along Sunset Avenue.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication by posting as
provided by law.
