AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 11.04.170 OF THE EDMONDS CITY
CODE TO ADOPT THE 1978 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE
AND AMENDING SECTION 11.04.190 OF THE EDMONDS
CITY CODE TO ADOPT THE 1978 EDITION OF THE STATE
RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR INSTALLING ELECTRIC
WIRES AND EQUIPMENT.
WHEREAS, the following amendments are in the best
interest of the public health, safety and general welfare, now,
therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 11.04.170 of the Edmonds City Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"11.04.170. National Electrical Code 1978 Adopted.
That certain printed code, three copies of which are
and have been on file in the office of the City Clerk
for use and examination by the public, being marked,
printed and designated as the National Electical
Code 1978, copyrighted in 1977 by the National Fire
Protection Association, is adopted by this reference
and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in
this Chapter."
Section 2. Section 11.04.190 of the Edmonds City Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"11.04.190. State Regulations and Rules Adopted.
That certain document, three copies of which are
and have been on file in the office of the City
Clerk, being marked and designated as the State of
Washington Department of Labor and Industries,
Electrical Inspection Section, Rules and Regula-
tions for Installing Electric Wires and Equipment

and Administrative Rules, and dated January 1978,
is hereby adopted as a part of the Electrical Code
of the City by this reference and is incorporated
herein as if fully set forth in this Chapter. Any
amendments or additions to the State rules and
regulations hereafter made, when printed and filed
in triplicate with the City Clerk, shall become
and be considered and accepted as amendments and
additions to the Electrical Code of the City
without further adoption of such amendments and
additions by the City."
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect five (5) days after passage and publication by
posting as provided by law.
