AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTIONS 8.16.030(5) AND 8.16.040 OF THE
EDMONDS CITY CODE TO ESTABLISH A 25 MILE AN
HOUR SPEED LIMIT ON 5TH AVENUE SOUTH FROM THE
500 BLOCK TO THE INTERSECTION OF STATE HIGHWAY
NO. 104.
WHEREAS, the Traffic Engineer has determined and the
City Council of the City of Edmonds, Washington, so finds that
it is in the interest of the public health, safety and general
welfare to decrease the speed limit on Fifth Avenue South from
the 500 block to the intersection of State Highway No. 104 from
35 miles an hour to 25 miles an hour, and
WHEREAS, the speed limits on State Highway No. 104
from the intersection of 5th Avenue South to the southeast
city limits have been previously established at 35 miles an
hour and have been approved by the State Department of Highways,
now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 8.16.030(5) of the Edmonds City
Code is hereby deleted and in its place the word "RESERVED"
inserted.
Section 2. The table of streets contained in Section
8.16.040 of the Edmonds City Code is hereby amended by adding
thereto the following entry:

of this Ordinance.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication by posting
as provided by law.
