ORDINANCE NO. 2512
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
FIXING COUNCIL SALARIES; FIXING A SALARY FOR
THE COUNCIL PRESIDENT; AND REPEALING ORDINANCE
NO. 2389 AND FIXING JANUARY 7, 1986 AS THE TIME
WHEN THE SAME SHALL BE EFFECTIVE
WHEREAS, the salaries of Council Members elected to
terms commencing January 1, 1984, was established by Ordinance
No. 2389 at a level different than that of Council positions
filled at earlier positions, in order to comply with Article XI,
Section 8 and Article XXX, Section 1 of the Washington State
Constitution, and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to equalize the salaries of
all Council Members at the same level effective January 7, 1986.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. City Council Members shall receive a salary
of $200.00 per month plus $45.00 per City Council meeting
attended.
Section 2. The Council President shall be entitled to
a salary of $100.00 per month in addition to the salary as a City
Council Member.
Section 3. Ordinance No. 2389 is hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect January 7, 1986, said date being five (5) days after
passage and publication as provided by law. The Clerk is
authorized to publish the heading of this ordinance as a summary
thereof.
