ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 8.16.040 TO ADD A NEW SUBPARA-
GRAPH TO LOWER THE SPEED LIMIT ON SUNSET AVENUE
FROM EDMONDS STREET TO KASPER STREET TO 20 MILES
PER HOUR AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL
BECOME EFFECTIVE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds has
considered the existing speed limits and those established in
accordance with State statute, and
WHEREAS, THE City Council of the City of Edmonds
believes it to be in the interest of the public health, safety
and welfare to exercise its discretion as granted by the State
legislature to lower the State established speed limits to 20
miles per hour at all times along Sunset Avenue, now, therefore,
FOLLOWS:
THE CITY COUNCIL OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS
Section 1. Section 8.16.040 is hereby amended to add a
new subparagraph 11, lowering the speed limit along Sunset Avenue
to 20 miles per hour, to read as follows:
11. Sunset Avenue from Edmonds Street to Kasper
Street, 20 miles per hour at all times.
Section 2. This ordinance or a summary thereof
consisting of the title, shall be published in the official
newspaper of the City and shall take effect and be in full force
five (5) days after the date of publication.
