AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1526, BEING
THE 1971 SALARY ORDINANCE, BY DELETING REFERENCE
TO ASSISTANT POLICE CHIEF, ESTABLISHING THE
SALARY OF POLICE CAPTAIN, AND INCREASING THE
SALARY OF THE ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 1526, the 1971 Salary
Ordinance, Section 1 be and the same is hereby amended by
deleting the position of Assistant Police Chief, setting
forth the new position of Police Captain, and increasing
the salary of the Assistant Fire Chief from $960.00 per
month as follows:

Section 2.

The 1971 Salary Ordinance, Ordinance
No. 1526, is hereby amended by the creation of a new Section
thereto reading as follows:
Section 6. A Police Captain acting in the
temporary capacity of Police Chief shall receive
a 3% increase following the 15th working day within
any 6 month period of acting in such capacity. All
Police Captains, whether or not acting in the capa-
city of Acting Chief, shall be considered as having
supervisory capacity. A Patrolman who is assigned
normal duties in the Detective Division shall
receive a 3% increase while so acting in such
capacity. The position of Police Lieutenant and
7Jetective is hereby deleted from the 1971 pay grade
classifications.
Section 3. The effective date of the salaries herein
set forth as adjusted shall be June 1, 1971.
