AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTIONS 11.08.010 AND 11.08.080 OF THE
EDMONDS MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADOPT THE 1976 EDITION
OF THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE A14D ESTABLISHING
PENALTIES.
WHEREAS, the following amendments are in the best
interest of the public health, safety and general welfare, now,
therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 11.08.010 of the Edmonds City Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"11.08.010 ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE.
That certain printed code, three copies of which are and have
been on file in the office of the City Clerk for the use and
examination by the public, being marked, printed and designated
as the Uniform Mechanical Code, 1976 Edition, copyrighted in 1976
by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical
Officials, is hereby adopted by reference and incorporated herein
as if set forth in full, subject to the modifications and amend-
ments as may hereafter be provided."
Section 2. Section 11.08.080 of the Edmonds Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"11.08.080 SECTION 202 OF UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE AMENDED -
PENALTIES.
Section 202 of the Uniform Mechanical Code as adopted by reference
by Section 11.08.010 is hereby amended as set forth as follows:
'Section 202 Penalties.
Any person, firm, corporation or other organi-
zationtviolating any of the provisions of this
Code shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and
upon conviction thereof be punished as set forth
in Section 5.45.020 of the Edmonds City Code.

Maintenance of equipment which was unlawful at the
time it was installed and which would be unlawful
under this Code if installed after the effective
date of this Code, shall constitute a continuing
violation of this Code."'
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication by posting as
provided by law.
