ORDINANCE NO. 2537
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHING -
TON, AMENDING SECTION 2.10.010 CITY CLERK -
DUTIES, TO PROVIDE FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF THE
CLERK'S DUTIES IN HIS/HER ABSENCE AND FIXING A
TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Edmonds is
required by state statute to perform certain duties, and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes it to be appropriate
to make clear provision for the performance of those duties in the
Clerk's absence, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 2.10.010 City Clerk - Duties of the
Edmonds City Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
2.10.010 City Clerk - Duties. The City Clerk shall
perform all duties prescribed by law and shall
perform such additional duties incident to the
office as the Mayor or Administrative Services
Director shall direct. In the absence of the City
Clerk, any duty prescribed by law to be performed
by the Clerk shall be performed by the
Administrative Services Director.
Section 2. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power
specifically delegated to the City legislative body, is not sub-
ject to referendum, and shall take effect five (5) days after
passage and publication by posting as provided by law. The City

Clerk is authorized and instructed to publish this ordinance or a
summary thereof consisting of itG tit—
